Those who spend many hours on the slopes every day know the ski area inside out and know exactly which slope is best suited to each level. That is why we asked our ski instructors about their personal favourite runs.

The result? Four ski instructors, four completely different favourite slopes – showing just how varied the Kronplatz ski area really is.

🎿 Fabian Kronbichler: Hinterberg – Slope No. 27

Fabian Kronbichler, a state-certified ski instructor and co-founder of Ski School Bruneck, recommends the Hinterberg slope No. 27.

With a length of 2.9 kilometres and a vertical drop of around 700 metres, Hinterberg is a long and varied run. According to the official Kronplatz piste information, it is classified as an easy slope.

For Fabian, it is particularly suitable for skiers who can already ski with parallel skis.

The wide and open slope provides plenty of space to work on technique: long turns, a consistent rhythm and controlled parallel skiing can be practised very well here.

Alex Kronbichler, a state-certified ski instructor, has chosen a particularly sporty run as his favourite: Silvester No. 1.

Silvester is one of the best-known runs at Kronplatz. At almost 5 kilometres long and with a vertical drop of 1,296 metres, it is one of the major runs connecting the summit with the valley.

The slope is officially classified as difficult and is therefore particularly suitable for experienced and sporty skiers who are confident on challenging terrain.

The long descent offers plenty of variety and is a real experience for anyone looking for a sporting challenge.

Alex’s tip

If you ski the Silvester, take your time to enjoy its different sections. With good snow conditions, it is one of the highlights of a day on skis at Kronplatz for many skiers.

🎯 Robert Unteregelsbacher: Plateau – Slope No. 6

Difficulty: Easy / Blue
Length: 1,114 m
Vertical drop: 248 m

Robert Unteregelsbacher, a state-certified ski instructor and ski coach, recommends the Plateau slope.

Important: According to the current official Kronplatz piste information, Plateau is listed as Slope No. 6. Slope No. 5 is Olang 2.

Plateau is approximately 1.1 kilometres long and has a vertical drop of around 248 metres. The slope is classified as easy and is therefore particularly suitable for beginners.

But beginners are not the only skiers who can benefit from the conditions on Plateau.

The wide slope also provides excellent conditions for more experienced skiers who want to improve their carving technique. The available space allows skiers to practise different turn shapes and work specifically on their technique.

⛷️ Martin Clara: Ried – Slope No. 16

Martin Clara recommends the Ried slope No. 16 – and there is a good reason for it.

At an impressive 7 kilometres in length, Ried is the longest of the four favourite slopes featured in this article. It also has a vertical drop of around 1,355 metres and is officially classified as an intermediate slope.

Ried is therefore particularly interesting for skiers who are already confident on red slopes and want to enjoy a long and varied descent.

The length of the slope makes it a real experience: you have plenty of time to find your rhythm, maintain a smooth skiing style and work on your technique at the same time.

If you are still learning to ski or want to practise your first turns in a safe environment, Plateau No. 6 is an excellent choice.

If you are an experienced and sporty skier, Silvester No. 1, at 4.95 kilometres long with almost 1,300 metres of vertical drop, is a run you should not miss.
