Why the Bruneck Ski School has deliberately chosen to specialize in private lessons
Learning to ski is something truly special. The first turns on the snow, the feeling of gliding and freedom – but also uncertainty, respect, and sometimes fear. That is exactly why, at the Skischool Bruneck, one thing is especially important to us: individual attention from the very beginning. From this conviction, we have deliberately chosen to specialize in private lessons.
Individually supported – faster progress
Everyone learns differently. Children as well as adults. Some are brave and try everything right away; others need time, security, and confidence. In a private lesson, the ski instructor can focus entirely on one individual or one family – adapting to personal learning pace, physical abilities, motivation, and also fears.
Our experience clearly shows:
👉 One private lesson often equals the learning progress of around three days of group lessons.
Especially for beginners, this difference is even more noticeable. These are the very first steps on skis – balance, control, and above all, developing a good feeling. In a private lesson, there is time for explanations, repetition, and targeted support. This builds confidence and leads to quick success.
More safety, more fun, less frustration
The first days on skis are crucial. Those who learn properly from the start avoid incorrect movement patterns, unnecessary falls, and frustration later on. A strong start with a ski instructor means:
• greater safety on the slopes
• faster understanding of technique and terrain
• significantly more enjoyment while skiing
And enjoyment is ultimately the most important driver of learning.
The price is offset by the results
Yes, at first glance private lessons are more expensive than group courses. However, this difference quickly evens out. Thanks to faster progress, intensive instruction, and higher efficiency, less total lesson time is often needed to ski confidently and independently.
In short: you are not just investing money – but in quality, time, and long-lasting skills.
Why we deliberately avoid large groups
Especially during holiday periods, we often see group lessons with ten or more children. In such large groups, individual learning is hardly possible: one child needs the bathroom, another falls, another arrives late – and the ski instructor inevitably becomes more of an organizer than a teacher.
That is why our philosophy is: quality over quantity. During the holidays, we offer private lessons only. In addition, we teach advanced children aged 6 to 15 in small, manageable groups. This ensures that every child is truly supported and actively learning – without long waiting times or unnecessary interruptions.
We firmly believe that skiing works best when you:
• receive individual instruction
• are taken seriously – with all your strengths, weaknesses, and fears
• learn with confidence and enjoyment
Private lessons make exactly that possible. That is why, as the Bruneck Ski School, we have made this conscious decision. Because in the end, it’s not about how many people are on the slopes – but how good you feel being there.
